My life seems to have been a collection of smaller lives, each one distinctly different from the one before. They include being a child during the later stages of the war. Several years spent as an RAF Policeman. I have been a waiter in London's West End, a special diet provider at a Butlin's holiday camp. I became a salesman, firstly selling bibles, then animal feeds followed by tea and coffee and eventually safes and vaults. The latter was my occupation for around 40 years. I eventually became Sales Director for a security company in Bristol. I took a break for a few years to live as an artist in Menorca, before taking over a bar and restaurant. I moved to SW France to renovate a 400 year-old cottage whilst running a marketing consultancy. My homes have included an old French Marie, an ancient Spanish inn, a 24' caravan and a 52' narrow-boat. I have been married 3 times, have 6 grown-up children (one natural and 5 stepchildren). I discovered Buddhism by accident 25 years ago and was ordained into the Western Buddhist Order in March 2005 (now known as the Triratna Buddhist Order).
